What weather restrictions apply to the airship's camera operations?

What happens if the weather is unsuitable on the day?

What camera equipment can you carry?

Can you provide a live down link?

There are two methods of using the airship, each with its own characteristics.

Firstly, in 'blimp' mode when the airship is operated on a tether line it can maintain stability 'head on' into 20 knots of steady wind (approx 23 mph) with little or no degradation of picture quality. Obviously gusts or wind in excess of the stated maximum make the camera platform too unstable for effective operations.

Secondly, in remote controlled mode (untethered) the maximum operational windspeed is 8 knots (approx 10 mph). This lower windspeed threshold is required to recover the craft safely.

We prefer to operate in dry conditions and definitely try to avoid thunder storms! Excessive cold is not a problem (a similar type of 'blimp' has been operating in the Antarctic with considerable success). High temperatures and humidity affect the lift capacity and thus potential payload.
